This is sometimes called the "abortion pill". With this method, pregnancies are terminated after ingesting two medications. The abortion pill usually works within five hours.

 

A follow-up appointment is necessary to make sure the procedure was effective. The second method is the surgical abortion, which removes the fetus and placenta from the woman's womb. This is an outpatient procedure that does not require anesthesia. There are two different types of surgical abortions. The first is aspiration and is used up to 16 weeks after a woman's last period. The second is dilation and evacuation and can be used later than 16 weeks. At A Hallmark Women's Clinic, we comply with the "Woman’s Right To Know Act". This gives women a "cooling off" period prior to having their abortion. Abortion is a life altering decision and one that should not be taken lightly. We want to make sure you know all there is to know about the procedure, what it is, what it does, and any possible medical issues it will cause. To comply with the law, all appointments for surgical and non-surgical abortions must be made 72 hours in advance.
